The Product Management Associate for Franklin 's Global Fixed Income Team assists Product Managers with ensuring that the firm's investment products are performing and being positioned at the highest levels of investment market standards. They do so by helping others to effectively communicate such both internally and externally and often serving as first point of contact for general questions on the investment strategies. Global Product Management and Development works as a liaison between investment management and distribution and serve as product experts and product champion for an assigned investment team or asset class.
You will be responsible for:
Support the gathering and retention of assets under management by working closely with sales and client service professionals across all distribution channels.
Assist Product Managers in effectively answer client servicing questions, articulate investment team views and respond to performance issues and other investment-related issues on strategies for assigned asset class.
Provide ongoing research and analytical support to Product Managers in their work on product positioning, portfolio performance analysis, investment process and strategy details, writing investment commentary and proactive portfolio updates (e.g., explaining changes in portfolio holdings and key portfolio themes) to internal audiences.
Provide product information to internal business partners and others responsible for producing and delivering content to internal and external audiences.
Assist Product Manager with written articulation of investment story, detailed product specifications, and creation of strategic messaging for investment team on assigned investment strategy.
Perform portfolio attribution analysis for use by internal and external clients.
Identify appropriate resources and collect information to use to research and analyze all aspects of competitor products, peer performance and competitive industry landscape and assist Product Managers in doing the same.
Assists Product Manager with identifying/researching new product opportunities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: BA or BS in Finance or Economics desired
2-5 years of industry experience
Basic understanding of investment and portfolio management processes
Knowledge of data sources for performance, flows, relevant competitive information
Excellent attention to detail
Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office products
Excellent organizational and project management skills
CFA (or working toward completion) viewed favorably
